An extended joint meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council was held as part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC “Uzbekneftegaz”.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, JSC “Uzbekneftegaz”, chief geologists of JSC “Uzbekgeofizika” and its branches, specialists from oil and gas exploration expeditions, and representatives of research institutes.

The meeting reviewed the results of geological exploration, field and production geophysics, seismic data processing, and laboratory studies carried out by JSC “Uzbekgeofizika” during the first eight months of 2026.

Particular attention was paid to increasing hydrocarbon reserves in promising oil and gas areas of Uzbekistan, identifying prospective sites for new exploration wells, preparing new geological structures, developing scientifically based recommendations for well drilling, and accelerating geological exploration activities.

Following the discussions, proposals and recommendations were put forward regarding priority tasks to be completed by the end of the year and plans for 2027.

The meeting is an important step towards improving the efficiency of geological exploration, applying scientific approaches in practical operations, and identifying further measures to expand the country’s hydrocarbon resource base.
