December 1, 1989 is one of the important dates in the history of Karakalpakstan. On this day, the Karakalpak language was given the status of the state language. This day is widely celebrated annually in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
On December 1 of this year, a collective conversation dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Karakalpak language took place at the branch of the Ustyurt Geophysical Expedition. A specialist in the Karakalpak language took part in the event; employees were given a lecture and poems prepared by branch employees.
